The Music Store is a slice of life dramedy focusing on two brothers, Jacob and Anthony, who have taken over full responsibility of the family store a few months after the passing of their father. Each dealing with grief very differently, they have to find a way to connect, and move beyond their resentments in order to keep the place alive. Okay, please forgive my earnestness, but I’m hopeful it’s the kind of movie that makes you wanna call your folks, your sibling, or your best friend. (But it’s also funny!)
It was so important to me that this film sound, feel, and look as authentic as possible. I’m thrilled to say we’ve achieved that by shooting in the actual music store my family has had in my hometown of Rocklin, CA for 30 years!
This short is complete and it is fantastic. One of the best shorts I have seen this year! It will now make the festival circuit.
